Have you ever wanted to break away from your daily routine and fully immerse yourself in an outdoor adventure?Come and experience bushcraft in Cerveteri, Rome, where nature sets the pace and technology takes a backseat.From morning until sunset, you’ll be guided by expert instructors who will teach you the skills to live in a natural environment: from identifying edible and medicinal wild plants to building your own shelter. You’ll also experience bushcraft cooking using a “dutch oven” and other traditional fire-based cooking methods.What we’ll doWe will meet at 9:00 AM at the Cerveteri bushcraft camp (RM), the first year-round bushcraft camp in Italy. The camp is set in a scenic area that also offers the opportunity to explore the enchanting Cerveteri Waterfalls.Upon arrival, we will start with an introductory briefing to outline the day’s activities. We’ll immediately practice key bushcraft techniques: from the safe use of tools (knives, axes, and other equipment) to constructing an emergency shelter. You’ll learn to observe and interpret your surroundings, making the most of the natural resources available.During the day, we will cover:- Introduction to tools: safe and proper use of knives, axes, and essential outdoor equipment.- Woodworking: practical techniques for cutting, carving, and assembling wood to create functional objects and structures.- Shelter building: constructing a stable and protective shelter using natural materials.- Applied botany: identifying edible plants and medicinal herbs to expand your knowledge of wild resources.- Fire making and management: effective strategies for starting and maintaining a fire for cooking and warmth.- Natural navigation: basic principles of orientation and reading the terrain, essential for every explorer.- Food preparation and preservation: traditional methods to cook and store food outdoors.- Survival skills: an introduction to essential techniques to safely handle a natural environment.During the experience, we will also share a special lunch inspired by traditional woodsman cuisine, prepared on-site using the “dutch oven.”The activity will conclude around 5:00 PM, for a total of approximately 8 hours.Who it’s forThe experience is suitable for everyone from 6 years old. Minors not accompanied by an adult must have a signed parental authorization.Additional InformationThe activity is available year-round and is confirmed with a minimum of 4 participants.Alternatives are available for vegetarians, vegans, and those with food allergies or intolerances.
