This ring-route walk connects two of the most beautiful places in Abruzzo: Santo Stefano di Sessanio and Rocca Calascio. We move slowly, following ancient shepherd paths, stone walls, and wide-open landscapes that invite silence and attention.We start from the medieval village of Santo Stefano, walking through its narrow alleys and out toward the highlands. The path rises gently, offering views of the Gran Sasso and the surrounding valleys.Reaching Rocca Calascio, the fortress appears suspended between earth and sky. Its bare stone walls and panoramic views make it one of the most evocative places in the region.After a panoramic stop and a moment of storytelling, we descend toward Calascio and return to Santo Stefano along a different path, completing the ring.This is not a traditional guided tour. It is a narrative walk — a way of being in the landscape with presence, slowness, and curiosity.🔵 What we will doWe will walk from Santo Stefano di Sessanio to Rocca Calascio along a ring-route trail. We will cross the village, slowly ascend toward the fortress, stop to observe the landscape and listen to the story of the place.
